Agriculture Scenario in Papum-Pare District
Area under Cultivation and Crop Production in the district view land use map
The major agricultural crops grown in Papumpare district are Paddy,
maize, millets, pulses, oilseeds and potato. Of these, paddy was
cultivated in maximum areas (10,180 Ha) in the district with production
of 22,709 MT during the year 2006-07. The yield per hectare (22.50 Qntl./Ha)
of paddy in Papumpare is fairly higher than the state yield (17.63 Qntl./Ha).
The maize and the millets production follow the paddy production with an annual production of 4,500 MT and 904 MT respectively. Pulses and oilseed are also cultivated in the district with an area of 415 and 1800 Ha respectively.
The Potato cultivation are widely adopted by farmers in the district (210 Ha) with an average annual production of 1,890 MT
